Selective Transmission Rebuilding

A rebuild is an inspection process—not just a box of new clutches.

Integrity rebuilds selected transmissions when the original unit, parts availability, vehicle use and expected warranty make rebuilding the responsible choice.

Services

The condition inside the transmission determines the real rebuild.

A standard rebuild normally replaces friction materials, seals, gaskets, filters and other application-specific wear items. It does not automatically mean every pump, drum, planetary, shaft, valve body, solenoid or electronic component is replaced.

After teardown, reusable hard parts must be inspected for wear, heat damage, cracking, scoring and dimensional problems. Known failure points are addressed according to the transmission family and the selected build level. Any additional hard-part damage is documented and added to the scope when required.

Rebuilding can make excellent sense for supported units, custom applications and vehicles where keeping the original transmission is valuable. On some late-model units, a reman replacement may still provide the stronger overall value and warranty.

What Matters

What professional rebuilding evaluates.

The exact operations depend on the transmission, but the standard is inspection, measurement and correction rather than blind parts replacement.

01

Mechanical Condition

Clutches, steels, drums, sprags, bearings, bushings, shafts, planetaries and the case are evaluated for reuse or replacement.

  • Clutch clearance
  • End play and bushing wear
  • Heat and debris damage
02

Hydraulic Control

Pump and valve-body wear can create pressure loss or cross leaks that destroy new friction material if they are not corrected.

  • Pump inspection
  • Valve-body wear checks
  • Separator plate and checkball condition
03

Application Needs

Converter, cooling, calibration, tire size, axle ratio, towing load and power level can change the parts and setup required.

  • Stock longevity
  • Towing and heat management
  • Selective performance upgrades

A Clear Path

A rebuild follows evidence in stages.

The final parts list is created after the core is clean enough to inspect accurately.

STEP 01

Confirm Candidate

Review the application, symptoms, intended use and whether a rebuild is supported.

STEP 02

Disassemble

Tear down, clean and organize the unit so damage and wear can be documented.

STEP 03

Inspect & Build

Measure critical components, correct known failures and assemble to specification.

STEP 04

Verify

Perform applicable air checks, pressure-related checks and final setup before installation.

Common Questions

Answers before you schedule.

These answers provide a starting point. The vehicle, evidence, written quote and warranty terms control the final recommendation.

What parts are included in a standard rebuild?

Standard content varies by transmission but generally centers on friction materials, seals, gaskets, filter and normal rebuild components. Damaged hard parts, electronics, valve bodies and other nonstandard items may be additional.

Is a rebuilt transmission as good as a reman?

It can be the right solution for a supported application, but the products are not identical. A reman program may replace or standardize more components and can offer a broader nationwide warranty.

Can you upgrade a transmission during rebuilding?

Yes, where proven parts and corrections match the intended use. Towing, power level, cooling, gearing and calibration must be considered together.

How long is the rebuild warranty?

Integrity bench rebuilds generally carry one-year/12,000-mile coverage, while a quoted coordinated R&R rebuild may carry 18-month/18,000-mile coverage. The written quote and warranty terms control.
