Services

Why replacement is often the primary modern-vehicle option.

A quality remanufactured transmission is produced through a repeatable process that can include complete disassembly, cleaning, dimensional inspection, known-failure corrections, valve-body and electronic work, hard-part replacement and end-of-line testing. Exact content depends on the supplier and transmission family.

For many late-model applications, that broader standardized process can be more predictable than rebuilding one unknown core after teardown. It can also provide nationwide warranty support and approved labor reimbursement when the selected program includes those benefits.

The transmission itself is only part of a successful replacement. Cooler contamination, converter selection, fluid specification, programming, adaptive relearn, wiring and existing engine or drivetrain problems must be addressed as applicable.

What Matters

What a responsible replacement quote considers.

The exact package changes by application, supplier and installation arrangement; the quote should identify what is included.

01

Correct Unit

VIN, engine, drive type, production details and calibration can change the transmission required even within the same year and model.

  • Application verification
  • Core-return requirements
  • Availability and freight
02

Installation System

The converter, cooler, lines, fluid, seals, mounts and related components are reviewed so the replacement is not installed into a contaminated or compromised system.

  • Cooler flush or replacement requirements
  • Correct fill procedure
  • Leak and wiring inspection
03

Electronics & Warranty

Some vehicles require programming, module setup, strategy transfer or adaptive relearn. Warranty terms also differ between reman suppliers and packages.

  • Programming requirements
  • Initial relearn and road test
  • Written warranty terms

Common Questions

Answers before you schedule.

These answers provide a starting point. The vehicle, evidence, written quote and warranty terms control the final recommendation.

Is a reman transmission the same as a used transmission?

No. A used unit is generally removed from another vehicle and sold with its existing wear. A remanufactured unit is disassembled and processed to a defined reman program with inspection, replacement and testing requirements.

Does the replacement include a torque converter?

Most complete reman packages include or require an approved converter, but the written quote controls. Converter, fluid and related installation requirements should be confirmed before ordering.

Will my vehicle need programming?

Many late-model vehicles require programming, strategy setup or adaptive relearn. The requirement depends on the transmission, vehicle and electronics supplied with the unit.

Who provides the warranty?

The remanufacturer provides the reman transmission warranty. Qualifying programs may offer 18-month/18,000-mile or three-year/unlimited-mile coverage, nationwide support and defined labor reimbursement. Exact written terms apply.
