Transmission Warranty Information

Not all transmission warranties are the same.

The warranty protecting your transmission depends on the type of repair you choose. Integrity provides warranty coverage on the transmissions we rebuild, while qualifying remanufactured transmissions are backed by the remanufacturer and can include nationwide coverage and labor reimbursement.

Compare Your Coverage

The warranty changes depending on how the transmission is repaired.

A bench rebuild, a rebuild with locally coordinated removal and installation, and a remanufactured transmission are three different products with different warranty structures. Understanding that difference can be important when deciding which repair provides the best long-term value.

Integrity Warranty

Bench Rebuild

1-Year Warranty

With a bench rebuild, you bring us the transmission after it has already been removed from the vehicle. We rebuild the transmission and return it to you for installation.

  • One-year Integrity rebuild warranty
  • Covers qualifying issues related to our transmission rebuild
  • Warranty inspection and repair must be performed by Integrity
  • Not a nationwide repair warranty
  • No reimbursement for another shop's labor
Important: Because Integrity does not control the removal or installation on a bench build, failures caused by improper installation, contamination, vehicle-side problems, incorrect setup, or other installation-related conditions are not covered by the rebuild warranty.
Integrity Warranty

Coordinated R&R Rebuild

18-Month / 18,000-Mile Warranty

With a coordinated R&R rebuild, removal and installation are arranged through the approved partner included in the quote. Integrity rebuilds the transmission and coordinates the transmission-related warranty path.

  • 18-month / 18,000-mile Integrity warranty
  • Removal and installation coordinated through the quoted partner arrangement
  • Qualifying rebuild-related warranty issues are handled by us
  • Warranty inspection and repair must be performed by Integrity
  • Not a nationwide repair warranty
  • No reimbursement for repairs performed by another shop
Return-to-us warranty: If a warranty concern develops, the vehicle must be returned to Integrity Transmission & Drivetrain for inspection and any approved warranty repair.

Why Nationwide Coverage Matters

What happens if your transmission fails hundreds of miles from home?

This is one of the biggest differences between an Integrity rebuild warranty and a qualifying remanufactured transmission warranty.

Our bench-build and coordinated R&R rebuild warranties are local, return-to-us warranties. If a qualifying warranty problem develops, Integrity must inspect the transmission or vehicle and perform the approved warranty work.

A qualifying remanufactured transmission can provide nationwide warranty support through the remanufacturer. That can be especially valuable for customers who travel, commute long distances, use their vehicle for work, or simply want coverage that is not tied to one repair facility.

Example

You're traveling and develop a covered transmission failure.

01
Contact the warranty provider.

The claim process begins according to the remanufacturer's warranty requirements.

02
The failure is evaluated.

The warranty provider determines whether the concern qualifies as a covered failure.

03
An approved repair facility can become involved.

Qualifying nationwide programs can allow approved warranty work to be handled without returning the vehicle to Springfield.

04
Transmission and labor support may apply.

Approved claims may include replacement-transmission support and labor reimbursement according to the specific warranty package.

More Than Just a Longer Warranty

Nationwide coverage can change the value equation.

Price is important, but it is not the only difference between rebuilding your existing transmission and installing a professionally remanufactured unit.

On many newer vehicles, the difference in price between a quality rebuild and a remanufactured transmission may be small enough that the additional warranty protection becomes an important part of the decision.

Integrity Rebuild Warranty

Strong protection for our workmanship, but the transmission or vehicle must return to us for warranty inspection and repair.

Bench Build Warranty

We can warranty our rebuild. We cannot warranty someone else's installation.

A bench rebuild is different from a complete R&R job because the transmission is installed outside of our control.

Modern automatic transmissions depend on more than the internal transmission itself. Fluid level and specification, cooler flow, cooler and line cleanliness, electronics, programming, linkage, external controls, engine operation, and installation procedures can all affect transmission operation and durability.

If a bench-built transmission is returned with a warranty concern, we will inspect it to determine the cause of the failure. If the problem is determined to have resulted from our rebuild, qualifying repairs are handled under the applicable Integrity warranty.

If inspection determines the failure was caused by an installation issue, contamination, incorrect fluid or fluid level, inadequate cooler flow, external vehicle problem, improper setup, or another condition outside the rebuild itself, the failure is not covered by the rebuild warranty.

Warranty Responsibilities

A warranty protects against covered failures — not every possible cause of transmission damage.

Warranty terms vary by repair type and remanufacturer. The written warranty provided with the specific job controls the actual coverage. The information below is a general explanation, not a substitute for that agreement. Qualifying Integrity rebuilds use the Integrity Limited Warranty. Before an online reman purchase, review the selected package and the limited warranty and installation terms; the agreement also links to the warranty provider's current publication.

Covered Failures

Qualifying failures caused by covered transmission components, workmanship, or other conditions specifically included by the applicable warranty may be eligible for repair or replacement.

Overheating & Contamination

Transmission damage caused by overheating, contaminated cooling systems, restricted cooler flow, incorrect fluid, or external contamination may not qualify as a warrantable transmission failure.

Vehicle-Side Problems

Electrical faults, programming problems, engine issues, transfer-case failures, driveline problems, improper installation, or other vehicle-side conditions can damage or affect a transmission without being caused by the transmission itself.

Modified & Performance Vehicles

Engine modifications, increased horsepower or torque, racing, competition use, oversized tires, heavy towing, or other severe-use conditions may require a transmission specifically built and warrantied for that application.

Continued Operation

Continuing to operate a vehicle after a serious transmission problem develops can cause additional damage. Customers should contact us or the applicable warranty provider when a significant problem is detected.

Written Warranty Controls

Exact terms, mileage limitations, time limits, labor reimbursement, exclusions, claim procedures, and other conditions are determined by the written warranty applicable to the specific transmission or repair.

Have a Warranty Concern?

Contact us before authorizing repairs.

If you believe your transmission has developed a warranty-related problem, contact Integrity before another shop disassembles, repairs, replaces, or modifies the transmission.

We can help identify whether your transmission is covered by an Integrity warranty or a remanufacturer warranty and explain the appropriate next step.

Before Any Warranty Repair

  1. Stop and document the transmission concern.
  2. Contact Integrity or the applicable warranty provider.
  3. Provide the vehicle and transmission information requested.
  4. Follow the required diagnostic and claim procedure.
  5. Do not authorize outside repairs unless the warranty provider approves them.

Unauthorized repairs or transmission disassembly can affect warranty eligibility depending on the applicable written warranty.

Transmission Warranty FAQ

Common warranty questions.

Are all Integrity transmission warranties nationwide?

No. Integrity bench rebuild and coordinated R&R rebuild warranties are return-to-us warranties. Nationwide warranty coverage is available with qualifying remanufactured transmission packages backed by the remanufacturer.

How long is the warranty on a bench rebuild?

Integrity bench rebuilds include a one-year warranty, subject to the written warranty terms. Because installation is performed outside our control, installation-related or vehicle-side failures are not covered as rebuild failures.

What warranty applies to a coordinated R&R rebuild?

Qualifying coordinated R&R rebuild jobs include an 18-month / 18,000-mile Integrity warranty. The vehicle must return to Integrity for warranty inspection and approved repair.

What warranty comes with a remanufactured transmission?

Depending on the transmission and selected package, qualifying remanufactured transmissions may include an 18-month/18,000-mile warranty or a three-year/unlimited-mile warranty.

Does a remanufactured transmission warranty cover labor?

Qualifying warranty programs can include approved labor reimbursement at $70 per hour or $125 per hour depending on the specific remanufacturer and warranty package.

Can another shop repair my Integrity rebuild under warranty?

No. Integrity rebuild warranties are return-to-us warranties. Integrity does not reimburse another repair facility to perform warranty work on an Integrity bench or coordinated R&R rebuild.

What if my bench-build transmission fails because of installation?

If inspection determines the failure resulted from improper installation, contamination, incorrect fluid, inadequate cooler service, an external vehicle problem, or another condition outside our rebuild, the failure is not covered by the rebuild warranty.

Which warranty is best if I travel?

A qualifying remanufactured transmission warranty generally provides the strongest option for customers concerned about coverage away from Southwest Missouri because nationwide warranty support and labor reimbursement may be included.
